(1886-1936). Early 20th century Palekh iconographer and fresco painter. Founder of the Palekh lacquer miniature. Studied at the Sofonov workshop (1897 - 1900). Later worked in iconographic workshops in Moscow and St. Petersburg and studied at the Alexander Stieglitz technical painting school. As an icon-painter of the Parilov icon-painting workshop, he painted churches in Valdai’s Svyatoozersky Monastery and in Kazan. From Served in the army (1907 – 1911) and later resumed his work at the Sofonov workshop (1911—1914). Fought in the First World War (1914 - 1917). Worked for Vseobuch in Shuya and theaters in Kineshma, Shuja, Ivanovo-Voznesensk (now Ivanovo) and Kostroma (1918-19).
Founder of the Medieval Pictorial Art Association (Dec. 4/5, 1924). Began to participate in art exhibitions from 1923.
Golikov is also known as a theatrical scenery decorator (among his works are the scenery for the opera “Boris Godunov”), china and enamel painter and a book illustrator (“The Tale of Igor’s Campaign”, Moscow 1934; Pushkin’s “The Tale of Tsar Saltan” 1933; sketches to Alexander Blok’s poem “The Twelve” for the exhibition “The 15th anniversary of the Red Army 1933).
In 1935 Golikov was awarded the title of the Merited Master of the Arts.
