Council of Michael the Archangel and other angels

The icon of the The Council of Michael the Archangel represents a multi-figured composition depicting angels glorifying God – the Creator and the Savior. In the upper part of the icon is a figure of Christ enthroned with his both hands raised in blessing.

St.John the Baptist is depicted waist-length in the upper section, below is the composition showing unanimous glorification of God, the Creator and the Saviour, by the angels. In the centre Jesus Christ is sitting, his halo is surrounded by the powers of the heaven.

Synaxis of the Archangel Michael

A multi-figured composition dedicated to unanimous glorification of God by angels. In the center of the composition are the figures of two angels holding a frontal full-length image of the Savior Emmanuel in a round slava (glory); beside them are the figures of the seraphim and cherubs.
